Her father who has been ill for some months, passed away at 11.15 a.m. I know because she texts me shortly after. Yesterday - we talked about her visit to the hospital to discuss resuscitation matters with the doctors. She is 24, and I think she is very brave. Her mother left them 10 years ago. I tell her to regard us as family, and for her to come to us for help or advice when she needs it.
I think of the little gratitudes which I enjoy each day - from unlikely sources. My blue water bottle is always filled in the mornings, and I know it is not Sean as he arrives after I do. So, one of my other 'off-springs' do this for me. And I am glad, and touched by the thoughtfulness.
