6.8.2025 Wednesday - an interview and maybe a new job

We are flying home today, but before that I attend an online meeting with a prospective client. They found us online, and contacted PH (who is busy today with the RENNA OP inspection) - Sean assisted with the website from Kuching. The meeting goes well, they seem to have done their research on us, and there is the prospect of a job in the horizon.

SL texts me and tells me that perhaps we might be working together again; on a housing project in Kuching. We have always kept our doors open for those who have worked with us before. Not all though, some have found firmer footing elsewhere and we are happy for them. Lau texts me and tells me that his boss is personally following up with Lot 49, while Azizah tells me that the Sibu project has been approved.

More good news, PH texts to tell me that the Petra Jaya project has been approved for submission.

launched during the pandemic, it was completed in July

7.12.2024 Saturday - KL to KCH

Executive lounge listening to other people's conversations while drinking G&Ts and reading coffee table books.

I run up and down the hill behind SS3/22, and eat a rava thosai alone. The birthday lunch is at noon, and some guests have arrived when we get there. We sit with Sam's cousins, sister and her husband - during the meal I decide that I will stop attending these events. These people have only self interest, and I am not interested in spending time with them.

We begin doing something constructive after lunch; check into the Hilton, go to IKEA, wrap up four sets of table legs, return to the hotel for pre-dinner drinks (complimentary, of course) before preparing for our respective dinners (she with Meow, and me with Sher-lin).

SL and I have a long dinner, talking about experiencing joy in our work. It is the case of 'just because we make it look easy does not mean that it IS easy. Likewise, just because I appear happy at what we are doing, it does not mean that we are happy doing what we are doing ALL the time. We have just learn to relish the good times more than the bad.

8 May 2023 Monday - we are almost fully loaded today

Today is a good day for work, it was almost ideal in terms of the work done and the people around me. I came in at 715 and worked on the Sibu Condo, to pass it to Sean when he arrived (still a little bit late) then I progressed to Elev8 and sorted out the quotation documents. Penghui arrived to set up and we talked about Tuesday's meeting with IB, and set up a meeting with Alan about waterproofing systems. The showroom BP went to Lekheng who looked a little out of sorts, he has a lot of his plate.

Later that morning, Freddie came over with Louis to meet with the steel fabricator for Impiana. Just then Teck texted to tell me our payment is ready.

At lunch, Sam arrived to sit opposite me to do her work, she is also doing intermittent fasting - I made tea and we talked about making a trip to Penang via Singapore. Meanwhile, the whole office left for lunch with PH - it is Melvin's office today.

In the afternoon, we met with Alan and YKC all good productive people in one room. It seems that we will be rid of the SIKA system soon, (nothing wrong with the system but the local rep is not good to work with).

At 350, I left for tennis and a swim - to be collected by Sean for dinner in the office with Jenny and Sherlin. JY was still working on the Block 13 proposal, Sherlin was thinking about the YKS proposal, Sara is writing personal statements for me in the website and Jenny was busy as how Jenny gets busy.
